Hazy Hot and Humid Schedule
Ever wonder what campers across the country do when it gets so hot that nobody wants to run and play outside anymore?
Many camps throughout the United States all do the same thing when the weather gets rough in the summer...they go to an over-crowded movie theater for a special "camp viewing" show, or go to a dirty bowling alley where the children are playing along side local patrons, perfect strangers, some friendly, others not.
When Frogbridge was designed we considered all of these issues and many more, because after all, this is summer camp and the weather throughout the summer can be unpredictable, to say the least.
At Frogbridge, we have 3 separate schedules that campers will be given each summer. Our first schedule, is our official day camp schedule. It is the schedule your child receives each week. These schedules include all of the wonderful outdoor activities included here on our website, as well as all of the incredible air-conditioned, indoor activities found throughout our campus.
Our second and third schedules are what we call our "Alternative Programming" Schedules. These schedules are created specifically for those rainy days as well as those "hazy, hot and humid" days, as we like to call them. You see, at Frogbridge schedules are carefully prepared and well thought out, keeping in mind that Mother Nature loves to play tricks on a summer schedule. Rather than put our young campers on busses and ship them out to over-crowded theater or bowling alleys where our campers will be placed along side perfect strangers, we keep them right here, safe and sound enjoying an incredible day of indoor, air-conditioned activities all day long.
Air Conditioned Indoor Activities
Here are just a few examples of our "Alternative Programming" scheduled activities:
On hazy, hot and humid days, days when the heat index goes beyond 95 degrees, all sports and outdoor activities not protected by shade are replaced with a third trip to our swimming complex and/or the indoor air-conditioned activities found on Main Street, Hops and Bops, Windows on the Water, Frogarita's and Ribbits Ice cream Arcade. Just imagine that on the worst weather day of the summer, when campers across the country are asking to stay home, our campers are making projects in the craft studios, dancing the day away in Hops and Bops, winning a game show contest at Harry J's House of Clues, sipping a slushy at Frogarita's, making S'mores at Cooking, piling on all the toppings at Ribbits Ice Cream Parlor, and participating in Olympic events at Harrison Square Garden!
